Sex Ed Bill Passes Assembly |

A bill referred to as the Healthy Teens Act (S1342 Winner/A2856 Gottfried) is again making its way through the New York State Legislature. The bill is a funding mechanism for Planned Parenthood and its affiliates. It authorizes the State to finance the development and instruction of “comprehensive sex education” in the public school system. |

Gay Marriage No "Laughing Matter" |

On Monday, April 7, 2008, New York Governor David Paterson was awarded the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force’s Leadership Award. The governor is known to have advocated for passage of the State Assembly’s Same-Sex Marriage bill in 2007, and he has long been considered an ally of homosexual activists. |

New York State has a long history of thoroughbred horse racing with its three famous horse tracks. The Saratoga Springs track was built in 1863, Aqueduct in 1894, and Belmont in 1905. The New York Racing Association (NYRA), a non-profit corporation, has run the tracks since 1955. Their contract expired December 31, 2007. |
