As some  men (and women) who claim to be God’s messengers reject the literal interpretation of the Bible, they are also rejecting pillars upon which society has long stood.  Today, many “pastors” reject absolute truth, opting instead for moral relativism and preaching a gospel of tolerance in this postmodern age.

Announcing New York's 55th Governor

On Monday, March 17, 2008, David A. Paterson was sworn in as New York’s 55th governor.  He is the state’s first Black governor and only the eighth African-American governor in United States’ history.

California Court Outlaws Home Schools

A California court has ruled that several children in one home school family must be enrolled in a public school or "legally qualified" private school. The ruling came in a case brought against Phillip and Mary Long over the education being provided to two of their eight children.

Spitzer's Fall From Grace

On Monday, March 10, 2008, the latest in a series of scandals rocked the halls of the New York State Capitol and less than two days later a resignation was announced. The story engulfed the Capitol as news broke that Governor Eliot Spitzer faced allegations of involvement in a high-priced prostitution ring known as the Emperor's Club VIP.

Brooks Seeks Gay Marriage Appeal
ImageCounty Executive Maggie Brooks used Friday, February 22, 2008 to announce Monroe County’s decision to file a motion to appeal the recent ruling of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division that same-sex marriages performed in other states or nations must be recognized in New York State.
