Image Online registration is now available for Legislative Day.  (When registering, please remember to add the names of each attendee in the comment section at the bottom of the registration page.)

Listen to NYFRF's Radio Ad promoting Legislative Day 2010.

There’s no question about it, pro-life and pro-family values have been taking a beating in recent years.  Whether you look to the advance of embryonic stem cell research, same-sex marriage, divorce rates, or assaults against parental rights, many would say that the Judeo-Christian worldview is on the ropes. Some would say we’re down for the count – but they’d be wrong!

Who would have thought that same-sex marriage would have been so handily defeated in the State Senate last December?  In fact, every piece of legislation that New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms strongly opposed was successfully blocked during the 2009 legislative session.

But now is not the time for Christians, and other conservatives to sit on their laurels.  We spent a great deal of time bobbing, dodging, and weaving in 2009, but in 2010 it’s time we throw a conservative counter punch!

You are invited to come to Albany not just to hear dynamic speakers, but to be trained in confronting the culture, interacting with elected officials, and organizing others in a more meaningful way.

NYFRF is pleased to announce that Dr. Jim Garlow will be one of our featured speakers at Legislative Day 2010.

Dr. Jim Garlow, Senior Pastor, Skyline Church

Image Dr. Jim Garlow, author, communicator, commentator, historian, cultural observer and Senior Pastor of Skyline Wesleyan Church in San Diego, CA, is heard daily on over 800 radio outlets nationwide in his one minute historical commentary called “The Garlow Perspective.”  In addition he airs a 30 minute broadcast called “The Garlow Perspective Special.”

Garlow has done over 750 radio, TV and print interviews – national and local – covering a wide range of topics: historical, theological, marriage and family issues and cultural trends.

He founded and led the California Pastors Rapid Response Team, a group of several thousand pastors that was committed to preserving the traditional, natural definition of marriage as being one man, one woman, which recently experienced a victorious campaign with Proposition 8 receiving over 7 million votes, 52.3% of the vote.

Due to the book Cracking Da Vinci’s Code (co-authored with Peter Jones, nearly 450,000 copies in print, becoming No.17 on the New York Times Bestsellers List – paperback, nonfiction), Jim has appeared on numerous national TV shows on NBC, CNN, Fox, MSNBC and CNBC.  A related book, The Da Vinci CodeBreaker, a dictionary with over 500 key Da Vinci Code related terms, went on to become a bestseller.

The Secret Revealed, an expose on the New Age The Secret, was released in July 2007.

His newest book entitled Heaven and the Afterlife: What Happens When You Die? - released in 2009 – is being followed by a 2010 release of Encountering Heaven and the Afterlife: True Stories from People Who Have Glimpsed the Afterlife.

Other books include How God Saved Civilization (re-released as God And His People),  A Christian’s Response to Islam, The Covenant, Partners in Ministry, The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership, Tested by Time, and God Still Heals.   Jim’s books have been translated into ten languages.

The Remnant Youth Fine Arts Team

ImageWe're also pleased to be joined by the national award winning Remnant Youth Fine Arts Team.  This group of young people from the Central New York region will blow you away with their "human life" video.

A human video is a form of theater that conveys a story or idea by combining music, Modern dance, and drama, along with elements of interpretive dance, American Sign Language, pantomime, and classic mime.  The LIFE human video is composed of teenagers and college students from Grace Assembly of God located in Syracuse, New York.  This human video was first designed for the Assemblies of God Fine Arts Competition; however the team felt compelled to take the message of hope and life contained in the human video and use it beyond competition for ministry.

Teen Track

Since today's students are tomorrow's vot¬ers (and future candidates) every high school student should attend Teen Track 2010.  Under the direction of Mrs. Linda Koenig, participating students will learn how unique the New York State judicial system is, and compare it to the Federal judicial system. Mrs. Koenig uses PowerPoint presenta¬tions, drama, handouts, games and role play¬ing activities to engage students and make the learning process a memorable one.

In addition to this, participants will be introduced to ways in which students can become a part of the conservative counter punch to the liberal legislative agenda that dominates New York State government.

Teen Track is open to students in grades 9-12, but younger students may attend either the Teen Track or the main sessions with one or both parents or a designated adult chaperone.

NYCF-PAC Sponsored Luncheons

For the first time, New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms Political Action Committee (NYCF-PAC) will be sponsoring a luncheon.  For an additional $10 (payable at the event), to the first 450 people (seating is limited), there will be a great meal and a tremendous opportunity to meet some of this year's candidates, hear NYCF-PAC's plans for impacting the political landscape in New York this November, and support pro-life, pro-family candidates.
