The Presidential Primary PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 22 January 2008

ImageThe New York State Presidential Primary is Tuesday, February 5, 2008. As wise stewards of the liberty we have been entrusted, Christians should vote. New York’s Presidential Primary is a “closed” primary meaning that voters will only be eligible to vote within their party. The only parties holding a presidential primary are the Democratic and Republican. If you are not a registered Democrat or Republican you will not be eligible to vote in the primary.

The Democratic candidates running on New York's primary ballot are Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. The Republican candidates on the New York ballot are Ron Paul, Alan Keyes, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee and John McCain.

The following candidates have dropped out of the race, but withdrew only after the New York ballot was already certified. Their names will remain on many presidential primary ballots, though they are no longer in the running. Those candidates are: Bill Richardson (D), Joe Biden (D), John Edwards (D), Dennis J. Kucinich (D), Duncan Hunter (R), Rudy Giuliani (R) and Fred Thompson (R).

In New York City and the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam and Erie, polls will open at 6:00am and close at 9:00pm. In all other counties, polls open at noon and close at 9:00pm.
