ImageKathleen M. Gallagher serves as Director of Pro-Life Activities of the New York State Catholic Conference.  Based at Conference headquarters in Albany, Mrs. Gallagher represents the state’s Roman Catholic Bishops in presenting the Church’s policy positions to legislators, the media and other external groups statewide.   

As one of New York's foremost authorities on pro-life issues, Mrs. Gallagher's Legislative Day topic will be "Responding to the Threat of the Reproductive Health & Privacy Protection (RHAPP) Act."

Mrs. Gallagher was a recipient of the Diocesan Pro-Vita Award from the Diocese of Rockville Centre in 1989 and the Diocese of Brooklyn/Queens in 1992.  Her articles have been published in state and national magazines, religious and secular newspapers.  She is a frequent guest on radio and television talk shows, discussing such issues as human cloning, stem cell research, sexual abstinence programs, abortion and conscience protections for religious organizations. 

At the Catholic Conference, Mrs. Gallagher previously served as an associate director for communications and as executive secretary to the Cardinal Cooke Pro-Life Commission, directing efforts to educate the Catholic population in the state to the value and dignity of all human life. 

A summa cum laude graduate of the New York Institute of Technology, Mrs. Gallagher resides with her husband and two sons in the Capital District of New York State.
