Recently, Assemblyman Tedisco publicly spoke of his faith in Jesus Christ. Is this appropriate?

	Absolutely, as long as he is speaking of sincerely held religious beliefs.
	It is fine to speak of God, but elected officials shouldn't speak specifically of Jesus Christ.
	When elected officials reference Jesus Christ, it should only be in an historical sense.
	It is never appropriate for an elected official to speak of their religion in a public setting.

County Executive Maggie Brooks used Friday, February 22, 2008 to announce Monroe County’s decision to file a motion to appeal the recent ruling of the New York State Supreme Court Appellate Division that same-sex marriages performed in other states or nations must be recognized in New York State. The ruling in Martinez v. County of Monroe was a result of a recent case against Monroe Community College by an employee seeking medical benefits for her same-sex partner. The couple took part in a civil union ceremony in Vermont and later married in Ontario, Canada, where same-sex marriages are legally recognized. The couple demanded that their foreign marriage be recognized in New York State and that they receive medical benefits from the College.
