Clergy Called to the Capitol PDF Print E-mail

Updated Information Available Below

For several weeks, the Legislators have had visits from groups of ministers like Concerned Clergy for Choice, who are committed to abortion rights, and Pride in the Pulpit, who are associated with Empire State Pride Agenda (ESPA) and advocating for same-sex marriage.   Pro-life Senators and Members of the Assembly are asking Duane and Jason, “Where are your ministers?”

On June 19, they will find out at our first "Power in the Pulpit" gathering.  Power in the Pulpit is a new initiative NYFRF is launching to counter ESPA’s Pride in the Pulpit.  ESPA claims to have over 700 ministers committed to the homosexual agenda.  NYFRF is looking for a thousand Bible-believing ministers who will not bend, blend or bow!  We are looking for ministers willing to mobilize for morality. This is Power in the Pulpit's  inaugaral event.

If you are reading this, and you are not a pastor, please let your pastor know.  There is no charge for this event, but we do need ministers across the State of New York to respond.

NYFRF’s goal is to show legislators where you stand on these issues.  The day’s events will include an opening address, presentation of "Save Marriage" petitions to legislators, a press conference, a reception with refreshments for pro-family Senators and Members of Assembly, and prayer.

The event begins at 10:00 AM, in the “Well” of the Legislative Office Building, and will conclude at 2:00 PM. A press conference and an appreciation reception for New York State Senators and those who have had the courage to challenge the Governor’s recent decision to recognize out of state same-sex marriages will be a part of that day.  Plan to arrive early and stay for the entire event. Key legislators will speak before you receive instructions about the day.

Please do not come alone; bring your friends in the ministry.  Fill your church van!  Let the New York State Senate and the rest of New York see that there are still Christian ministers in New York who are serving the Lord and willing to take a stand for traditional marriage and morality.

As you enter the parking garage that morning, you will need a picture ID.  If you are paying with credit card, have that available with your driver’s license so that you do not tie up traffic.  Since you will be going through security when you enter the Legislative Office Building, do not bring any pocket knives or anything resembling a potential weapon.

You will be representing the Lord and New Yorkers' Ministries, so please dress in a suit and tie.  If you normally wear a clerical collar, it will be appropriate at this rally.  You will be walking long distances, so wear comfortable shoes.
